
Bass Around Asia Youth Ensemble
Bass Around Asia Youth Ensemble is a youth double bass ensemble initiated by Bass Around Asia, designed to foster musical collaboration and cultural exchange among young bassists across Asia. With members from various countries in the region, the ensemble provides a platform for artistic growth through chamber music and shared musical experience.
The ensemble is mentored by the teaching faculty of Bass Around Asia and regularly invites renowned double bass artists from around the world to lead workshops and rehearsals. Their repertoire ranges from classical masterworks to contemporary compositions, highlighting the versatility and expressive depth of the double bass.
As one of the few youth ensembles in Asia focused on the double bass, Bass Around Asia Youth Ensemble continues to connect and inspire the next generation of bassists through meaningful musical experiences.

Eligibility for B.A.A.Y.E.

Participants are required to cover their own expenses for monthly ensemble rehearsals (NTD 2,000/month) starting from September each year.

Participation in the annual B.A.A. Concert Hall performance is mandatory.

One week prior to the annual concert, participants must attend full-day rehearsals (8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.). A fee of NTD 3,000 will be charged, which includes all meals.

Each participant is responsible for selling at least 20 concert tickets.

All assigned parts must be fully prepared one week before the performance for review by the instructors. Preliminary rehearsals will be held 1–2 times in July.

Participants are expected to cover their own costs for masterclasses and for solo performances in the masterclass recital.

Instruments must be prepared by the participants for rehearsals. If necessary, instrument arrangements can be discussed with the organizer.
